They're putting the boots to us!

There's a saying that goes "even a dog knows the difference between being stumbled over and being kicked".

Well the American people are getting kicked by the FED and the Treasury Dept. and most seem to being accepting the story that they accidentally stumble over us.

They're putting the boots to us, you should be able to feel it by now. They're monetizing our debt to the tune of 600 Billion and it will rise to over a Trillion before its all said and done.

I hope you have yourself a very nice wheelbarrow to tote around your bread money because they're going to end us with this money printing scheme.

We better wake up and stand shoulder to shoulder with those politicians that are willing to call for a complete top to bottom audit of the FED. Turn over every stone and see what is laying beneath.

This will be the destruction of the savers, retirees, gramma and grampa on their fixed income and your childs chance at college.

They don't even deny it anymore even though they testified under oath that they would not do this.

Wake up, they are making your savings, retirement and your financial future worthless.

Thank you to the Mumford Fire Dept. for their dedication ceremony to my Grandmother on Sept. 11th. They dedicated a bench in her honor as well as a framed picture with her history with the Fire Dept. which will be displayed in the museum.

She was the first female member of a Fire Dept. in Monroe County and was a very active member of the community for many decades. It was truly appreciated by June and the rest of our family.

It was a great weekend all around, Mary had a lot of fun with Aunt Sharon and Uncle John as well.

Thanks again MFD from the Davis family, I can't wait for my daughter and son to have a seat on the bench.

Essay that didn't make the D&C

My last post was a boiled down version of what I'm now posting. It was intended for the D&C Speaking Out Essay section. Unfortunately they told me they would not be publishing it. So here's the original version before I had to edit it down to fit within their word count restraints.



I really wonder if there is anyone other than myself who cannot see the truth and cruel reality that lies ahead for all of us. We as union, state, county and most of our towns are bankrupt. We are broke and nobody has the guts to stand up and say it to our politicians, or to the people for that matter. I’ve listened to elites from the federal level all the way down to the local level talk about how to spend our stimulus money or how best to use the unspent bailout money. They talk about it as if this money is really ours. Strike that, they talk about it as if this money is really “real”. Everything they’re doing to keep us solvent and afloat is being done by spending money we’ve borrowed from Japan, communist China, stolen from our children’s future, printed out of thin air by having our debts monetized by the Federal Reserve. This economic model does not work and we can’t expect these political elites to fix the very same problem that they themselves created. Expecting that to happen is just plain naïve because they are the problem.

Every single level of government is no longer able to pay the bills with the money they take in from taxes, fees, fines and surcharges. We need to borrow and print money to stay solvent. This is the very definition of bankruptcy.

Somebody had better have the guts to stand up and say enough is enough. Enough of bailing out failed banks and giving away the store to the transnational corporations. Enough of the unfunded mandates bankrupting our state and county. Enough of the ever increasing entitlement programs sending us into insolvency. Enough of the compassionate conservatives telling us we should be “spreading democracy” around the globe. We’ve spent well beyond our means and it’s time to face the reality that the party is over. Maybe it was fun while it lasted but it’s time to clean up the mess. Let’s all grow up and quit taking the easy way out and trying to pin the blame on just one party or another. The blame lies at the feet of the Statist’s in both major parties. They’re the only ones who have been in control for over a century.

The Statist’s have been legislating, taxing, borrowing and spending us into insolvency in order to protect us from every little physical, spiritual and emotional obstacle that we may encounter in our daily lives. For decades both parties have been marketing the idea that government can give you everything you ever wanted, and solve all of your problems as well. They accomplished none of that but they did manage to bankrupt us in the process. This theory of government doesn’t work and our current financial situation that we find ourselves in today, which has been in the making since the 70’s, is proof of the failure of that theory of government.

The political elites of the past 30 years, in both parties, envisioned a pain free utopia of fun and comfort for all and sacrifice of very few even if it meant they had to mortgage the financial security of future generations in order to accomplish it. And now that they realized they’ve gone to our well once too often, they’ve tapped into the well of our children and our children’s children. And that’s where we should draw the line in the sand and say enough is enough.

We as a community are going to face some serious fiscal issues from now through the foreseeable future and its going to be painful one way or another. The longer we wait to deal with it the worse the pain we’re going to feel. So why don’t we just be adults and just grab a hold of that bandage, yank it off and get it over with. The longer we wait the bigger of a bandage we’re going to have and the more pain we’re going to have to suffer through. Sooner or later we’re going to have to own up to this out of control spending, there’s no way to avoid it.

We do have a few choices to solve this matter. Unfortunately all of them will hurt in one way or another, but now is the time to choose one. Now is the time to face reality. We could just kick the can down the road, hide our heads in the sand and let our children and grandchildren deal with it. Unfortunately that has been the choice of just about every politician ever, and that’s a weak choice made by the weak minded. We can default on our debts and obligations and walk away from the problem and hope some other political entity comes along and cleans it up for us. I truly cherish my freedom and our sovereignty; I’ll pass on that option. Or we can take the common sense approach and take the pain. Start paying off our debts instead of racking up more debt just to put the pain off until later. The common sense answer isn’t an easy one and it would be a tough road. Everybody from the top to the bottom would to have to make huge sacrifices. Like any one of us who has worked to pay off personal debt, our Nation is going to have to drastically cut discretionary spending. There is just no other way to go about it. There will be no way to afford any sort of safe and functioning infrastructure, security, education or safety net if we continue on going about business as usual and foolishly spend ourselves into bankruptcy. We just won’t be able to afford anything, at all.

Now is the time for my generation to stand up to these misguided elites, to lead and make the sacrifices that will be required in order to right the ship. Let’s not hand off this mess to multiple generations of kids who didn’t even have a vote in how their financial security and sovereignty was sold off to communist China, transnational corporations, the Federal Reserve and others who don’t have our best interest at heart. Let’s not leave our kids to go down with this ship. This is gut check time and also time to gather up the intestinal fortitude that our Grandparents had and make serious sacrifices so our kids will have a better future, not so we as generation will have a more comfortable future, so our kids will have a better future.

Welcome to Greece

I've been lazy

I've been lazy with this for a few months now. I have an editorial that I'm sending to the D&C about the fiscal state of our Town, County and State that I unfortunately have to shorten due to word count restrictions. I'll post the full version of it here after I finish the shortened version and send it to the paper.

WHEATLAND NY 2009 ELECTION RESULTS

Although these results are unofficial and the ballots won't be counted until next week at the very least the Board of Elections and the D&C could report the write-in totals along with the candidates who were on the ballot. So here is the real results from Tuesday night

To the 409 voters who got out to write-in my name I can't thank you enough. You made it all worth it. We really sent a message. Keep checking back as I will try to keep you informed as to what is happening at the Board Meetings

To the residents of Wheatland,

An incumbent Councilman was able to successfully keep there from being any competition on this years ballot. Presently there are 3 incumbents that will be running unapposed for re-election. Which has been the standard for the past 8 years or so.

Wheatland, you will still have a choice this year.

There will be at least one write-in candidate for Town Council and hopefully one more for Council as well as for Supervisor.

My independent petition lost in a challenge by one of the incumbents but as of 9/21/09 I have decided to run a Write-In Candidacy for Town Council.

Oatka Creek Park - A gem within Monroe County

Where do I begin? I guess I'll begin by saying I don't know all the details regarding this project but what I do know is unsettling.

But first a description of Oatka Park for those who be unaware of it.

It's a quiet, tranquil place that the residents of Wheatland know and love and keep quiet about so as to not to let out the secret. Those of us who already live out in the sticks enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with it. That's why we know this park is a special place.

Each night and every weekend we are able to escape Rochester to our backyards and private lands. Others who don't have that, have Oatka park. A quiet, safe and peaceful place to take a walk, a jog, or to walk your dog in the woods. It also has some of the greatest fishing spots in Western NY. While enjoying the park the silence will only broken by birds, an occasional barking dog, deer breaking from a hedgerow, animals rustling in the brush or a fish breaking the surface of Oatka Creek. I'm lucky enough to be able to enjoy all of this at my own house just down the road but I still go to the park because it's an amazing place.

Monroe County wants to completely alter this character of Oatka by excavating a large area, large by any ones standards, and creating soccer fields. A truly shameful act. All of this so kids of Wheatland can play soccer even though there are already numerous parks with numerous playing fields within Wheatland where the fields are dedicated for athletic use. Not to mention the many other places that could have been slated for this type of alteration besides Oatka Park. Let's not forget the expense that this will cost Monroe County and Wheatland all the while governments at every level cry poor and take more of our money to make up for their uncontrolled spending habits

It's a County Park so the County can do as they wish, apparently, without concern as to the impacts of the local residents and this fine park. That's where our local Board should have stood up to oppose this and inform the residents of what was going on since the County wasn't willing to do so. What is really unsettling is the actions of the Wheatland Town Board to assist the County in this venture. Instead of first seeking the thoughts of the surrounding residents of Wheatland the Board has helped the County to move this along as quietly as possible.

Only until the sounds of the excavation started did a majority of residents find out about this project.

We want this park preserved because out here in the sticks we already enjoy all of this park's finer points right in our own backyards. We know how important the "feel" of this park is. We want it preserved for those who might not have the luxury of woods, streams and peace right out our front doors like so many of us have out here in the outer reaches of Monroe County.

Who knows how long we'll be able to enjoy the quiet small town life out here? If Oatka Park is left undisturbed the answer to that question will be forever.

Enough with this soccer field project and how our Board handled this.

Wheatland, this November you have a choice.
